Stretch marks

Stretch marks

Stretch marks can have several contributing factors, such as an increased production of cortisol, medications or injections, weight gain, pregnancy, exercise, and increased growth hormone. This forms "scars" in the dermis or what I call a "break" in the skin when the skin is stretched, i.e. overstretching of elastic fibers in the skin.

I have treated stretch marks with laser since the early 80's.
- With a proper laser treatment can stretch marks go away, you see about 40-50 percent improvement after three to four weeks. For most people a single treatment is enough, though some need more treatments with six to eight months apart. Laser stimulates cells in the dermis to produce new tissue.
